Summary

The Audubon Park area, a distinctive residential enclave and historic district, was once the home of painter and naturalist John James Audubon and now is occupied by Manhattan's only active cemetery (Trinity Church Cemetery). We'll take in some of the street art that is part of the Audubon Mural project which seeks to represent over 300 species of birds whose existence is threatened by climate change.

In addition to the murals we’ll see several magnificent sculptures created by early 20th century women artists and you learn about several of the interesting women that once called that neighborhood home. We’ll visit a local independent bookstore, take in varied architecture, several historic houses of worship, and further uptown we'll also visit the grounds of the delightful Morris Jumel Mansion - Manhattan's oldest house built in 1765.
Event Registration is closed.
