Summary
[In-person] The post-Civil War years up through the beginning of the 20th century were the golden years for Clinton Hill. The local newspapers wrote about the society doings of the families “on the Hill” where some of Brooklyn’s wealthiest people lived. Brooklyn’s best architects were busy designing larger and larger mansions for these people, filling both Clinton and Washington Avenues with some of Brooklyn’s finest turn-of-the-century’s residential architecture. Our tour will highlight parts of the Hill not featured in our other Clinton Hill tours, so we hope you will join Suzanne Spellen and Morgan Munsey as we showcase the places and people that made the Hill THE place to be.
