[In-person tour] This walking tour with architectural historian Matt Postal explores the rezoned banks of Gowanus, where history and redevelopment go hand in hand. Focusing on the rapdily changing northern section, we'll view many new apartment complexes and their waterfront promenades, as well as such landmarked structures as the American Can Company, the ASPCA, the Brooklyn Rapid Transit Company, and the New York & Long Island Coignet Stone Company, the oldest concrete structure in New York City..
