Summary

In 1932 MoMA introduced Bauhaus inspired International Style architecture to its American audience and consequently commissioned the first building of this kind for its new location on 53rd Street, NY's first glass curtain wall! Alexander Calder's "Fish and Lobster Trap" was commissioned for its staircase and still adorns this space. The new style became a trend: the UN, Lever House, Seagram Building, Pan Am Building and many others chose this type of architecture, and all these buildings, since their spaces are rather chaste, include interesting art commissions from leading masters like Isamu Noguchi, Josef Albers, Henri Moore, Hans Hofmann and many others. Touring virtually we can see all the highlights!
