Central Business Districts are essential to New York City life, with their towers defining the skyline, taxes funding vital city services, and populations supporting a street-level ecosystem of small businesses and transit infrastructure. The COVID-19 pandemic has upended long-held assumptions about the shape of the American workplace, resulting in overwhelming office vacancy and grinding these dependencies to a standstill.
