There has long been a Slavic flavor in the East Village, which has been home to Poles, Russians, Ukrainians, Slovenians, and other immigrants from Eastern Europe. Though the neighborhood has gentrified greatly in recent years, many vestiges of its Slavic past remain. This tour will explore the Slavic East Village - its food, its shops, and its houses of worship. We'll also explore the countries and cultures where they originated.
