Although the name was officially used by a city that was around for less than three decades (1870 – 1898) it has started to come into its own recently, quickly earning the title ‘LIC : New York's Other City.' See how its rapid and ongoing residential growth is developing a tech center as well as its thriving arts community, with a high concentration of art galleries, art institutions, and studio space. All this (and more!) gives the area another name, "LIC : The Cradle of Creativity!" At the tour's end there are many nearby restaurants and galleries - and your guide will have available names and addresses for places where participants can linger over conversation.
