We'll view landmark department stores and distinctive set-back loft buildings – fireproof factory and show room structures that mainly produced apparel. In addition, the fading fur district will be discussed, including the SJM Building designed by Cass Gilbert and the mid-20th century modern campus of the Fashion Institute of Technology, where thousands continue to train for work in this important industry each year.
