In the second of three tours of historic Flatbush (the last one was Prospect Park South and the Heart of Flatbush, the next one will be Midwood), we will look at greater Ditmas Park, with an emphasis on the planned suburb developed by Lewis Humphrey Pounds beginning in 1902. Clearly influenced by the nearby Prospect Park South development (begun 1899 by Dean Alvord), but homier, Ditmas Park today is one of Brooklyn's most popular neighborhoods.
