Join us for a guided Jane’s Walk along the 34th Ave Open Street, a 1.3-mile car-free corridor at the heart of Jackson Heights, Queens. Since its inauguration in 2020, 34th Ave Open Street has been transformed into a vibrant community hub, providing recreational space with a focus on public safety.
On this tour, you'll learn about the advocacy efforts, community stewardship, and history behind this groundbreaking project. Born out of the need for open space during the pandemic, 34th Ave has evolved into an outdoor community center and micromobility corridor spanning 26 blocks. We’ll make stops along the way to highlight the corridor’s unique design treatments. Walk with us to discover how residents and advocates have reimagined public space to enhance quality of life and create a lasting community asset.
