Summary
This is an "uptown" walking tour (Uptown in Lincoln's day) exploring Lincoln-related sites in what was then the north of the city. A particular theme of the walk is how New York mourned the death of Abraham Lincoln. We’ll explore his funeral route, an extant remainder of a synagogue where one of the first eulogies to Lincoln was given, and the site of the place where Lincoln dined after his Cooper Union address—no it wasn’t an alehouse. Along the way we’ll discuss many Lincoln connections with New York.
