Summary

[Virtual tour] Every savvy New Yorker knows about the Lemon Ice King of Corona, but that is just scraping the surface of the many jewels of Corona in Queens. We can start with the home of American horse racing at Fashion Race Track (1856-1866), the first professional baseball game (1858), Sportsman Harry Hill (1880s - 1896) who inspired the book "Gangs of New York," and the sparkling glass of the legendary Tiffany Glassworks (1901-1932) ... and no conversation of Corona is complete without stopping by to say 'hello' to Louis Armstrong! Bob Singleton, Greater Astoria Historical Society's Executive Director - using some of his collection of vintage postcards - takes another look at an overlooked community rich in history, urban texture, and community heritage with his latest virtual walk of the gems in "The Crown of Corona."
