Summary

[Virtual tour] Today, many cities, towns, villages are proud of their role in helping fugitives fleeing slavery in the years before the Civil War. Everyone wants to be able to say that their home, or church or outbuilding was a station on the Railroad. But it was illegal to help escapees and after 1850, it was against Federal law. Yet thousands of brave people, both black and white were important parts of this amazing network. NY's Capital Region - Albany, Troy, and Schenectady, were hotbeds of Abolitionist activity. There are remarkable stories about freedom seekers and their helpers in the city of Troy. This tour with Suzanne Spellen will highlight some of the major figures who helped shape American history. And yes, Harriet Tubman was here too.

For all tours, there are no refunds, cancellations, or exchanges unless we cancel a tour. Online registration closes one hour prior to the tour start time.
