Summary
[In-person tour] Two of Manhattan's most recognizable neighborhoods, TriBeCa and SoHo, which have long been marketed with legacy structures and contemporary vision, gained trendy, gentrified names; they were featured in publications and films (1985's *After Hours* and 1986's *Hannah and Her Sisters*). Take a meandering walk discussing urban innovation through the old bones of a manufacturing district adaptively reused as a creative space for artists, galleries, and later luxury shopping. This tour with historian James Russiello will focus on creative insertions and adaptive reuse of historic buildings, along with new, exciting infill designs.
