Summary

With Clinton Housing Development Corporation Horticulture Director Meral Marino and NYC Parks Care Captain volunteer Elizabeth Young. Hell’s Kitchen’s recognized horticulturalist expert Meral Marino highlights which native plants thrive in her Manhattan tree beds, sharing her tried-and-true expertise on brightening neighborhoods in NYC. Participants will learn how she plants for success in area tree gardens, building on her invaluable experience in Midtown West. We also will check in on the efforts to create a butterfly trail on 9th Avenue in the mid 40s, enriching the monarch butterfly migration corridor, and learn the steps NYC Parks tree stewards take to nurture our tree canopy and address heat vulnerability in urban areas.
